The Mahle 4032 Pistons are the best choice for your high horspower Focus ST if it will be seeing daily duty. The 4032 alloy used in the Mahle 9.3:1 compression pistons offer lower thermal expansion rates allowing tigher engine clearances as well as increased reliability. While the 2618 pistons (currently only available in 11:1 compression) are slightly stronger, they expand more meaning you must run looser engine tolerances and the piston may deform over time. We generally recommend 2618 pistons for racing and non-daily driven applications. All Mahle pistons feature an OEM sized 22.5mm wrist pin making them an excellent match for the Manley H-Beam Rods.

MAHLE Motorsports is pleased to announce the introduction of  new Ford EcoBoost 2.0 L pistons, designed specifically for the extreme loads of today’s high boost direct injected engines. These PowerPak pistons are machined on MAHLE 4032 alloy, slipper skirt forgings with 3D shaped crowns specific to the needs of the EcoBoost combustion chambers. They are then triple coated first with a phosphate dry film to protect the pin bores from galling. Next, MAHLE’s proprietary anti-friction Grafal® is applied to the skirts. Finally, to withstand the higher cylinder temperatures and pressures associated with boosted, direct injection applications, the top ring grooves are hard anodized to protect against micro-welding.
