What it works on:
VW MK6 GTI. Gen1 Jetta GLI (2011-2013) (It may work on other applications such as the MK5 GTI, MK6 Golf R, or derivatives but we have not verified fitment or function.)
This is a highly recommended fueling solution when running 300+whp with an upgraded turbocharger or running ethanol mixtures above E30.
More Details:
The Stratified Xtra Fuel System has some of these key benefits and features:
- More power is made throughout the power band safely. The system can support 550whp+. Our shop MK6 GTI made 511whp on this system with 1000cc injectors, our STR67 turbo, 525LPFP and E50 fuel.
- Included dual injectors, 1000cc/min each with optional 1400cc/min each upgrade.
- Running E85 blended fuel is now possible and safe without running lean on bigger turbos.
- A richer mixture keeps detonation and heat down which are major factors that contribute to piston and engine failure.
- Intake Valves are kept cleaner with the added port injection.
- No splicing, cutting, or modifications of the OEM harness or fuel lines.
- Upgrading the injectors to the 1400cc option (if ever needed) is affordable and simple.
- Much better fuel metering and atomization than a WMI system - it is a proper fuel system that is also more reliable.
- We provide a WMI bung if you want to run the aux fuel on pump gas and run WMI for an octane boost (in areas where E85 is not readily available).
- No extra tanks or reservoirs or pressure regulators are needed.
- Many OEMs opt to run both port and direct injection systems on their high-power vehicles. This way you keep the oem DI system for efficiency and only use the port aux system under boost.
- Fully Plug and Play. It includes everything for a complete installation.
Once installed, the system should be tuned (tuning is needed!) to work in tandem with the OEM fuel delivery system for seamless and safe power delivery - especially when using ethanol-based fuels that have higher fuel flow requirements.
The controller is programmed using a USB cable which is included in the kit.
Optional Extra: Stratified LPFP Upgrade
The Stratified MK6 GTI low-pressure fuel pump is a drop in solution for higher horsepower vehicles. The kit is designed to increase the flow rate of the fuel beyond what the OEM system can provide. This fuel feeds the high-side fuel systsem (HPFP) and any additional fuel systems such as the Aux Fuel System.
While every car is a bit different we usually see a low-side fuel pump upgrade as necessary when making beyond 330-350whp.

The OEM DI fuel system in the EA888 Gen1 can deliver fuel for up to around 320whp but after this point, it starts to run out in two main areas: The high-pressure fuel pump, and fuel injectors. The high-pressure pump is the first to lose pressure and this can cause driveability issues such as sputtering or non-smooth running to redline as well as put the motor at risk of running lean. The DI injectors are soon to follow in terms of flow limitation especially if fuel pressure drops. This Xtra Fuel system allows for an additional 300hp worth of fuel with the dual injectors provided. At the same time, we recommend an upgraded in-tank pump. Below is an image of a GTI with a GTX2867 that is running out of fuel even on pump gas.

The Stratified Xtra Fuel System addresses both the HPFP and injector shortcomings with a plug-and-play auxiliary fuel system. Some cars have stronger in-tank fuel pumps and can sustain power above 400whp, while others will need an upgrade. Here's a quick way to check if your in-tank pump is delivering the fuel needed. You can also opt for a low side pressure sensor with the aux fuel kit to monitor pressures in real time. Below you can see how even on E40 (ethanol blended) fuel the injection time stays in a much safer zone and the car has proper fueling on a bigger turbo.

Direct-injected cars offer an increased level of efficiency and capabilities. However, the fuel systems are very expensive and difficult to upgrade when we want to extract more power from the engine. On top of this, they have issues such as intake valves that get dirty. So it was time to innovate and allow you guys to enjoy a more powerful and safe EA888 engine!

Installing the Xtra Fuel System is simple (simpler than a water-methanol injection kit) and it requires no cutting, splicing, soldering, or any non-reversible modifications to the vehicle.

Kit includes everything to make installation simple!
