Upgrading the injectors on a DI engine buys you top-end fueling headroom. This is where the high-pressure fuel pump is actuated quickly enough to supply enough fuel, so the shrinking injection window becomes the limiting factor. A higher-flowing injector is the answer to cars that are fuel limited in the top end of the rev range.
