Apr 25, 2016Alex was awesome throughout the entire tuning process! He was always very thoughtful in the email correspondence and I felt as though he put 110% into each map iteration he sent me. Great job Alex! I will come back soon for my E85 tune :)

Feb 29, 2016I recently finished up my tuning process and wanted to let others know how awesome it was. I own a 07 mazdaspeed 3 with FMIC, race pipe, SRI, upgraded HPFP internals and one step colder plugs w 114,000 miles on it. I started my tuning process at the end of September and just finished up now do to a few things that happened which I'll get to. Starting off in September I had just purchase a flash tune from Stratified to try it out and see how it was. I instantly had a huge smile and what a big difference in power from a cobb ots map, at least on the but dyno. I knew I wanted more. Flash tune was producing about 235whp and 270wtq according to my tuner Stan. So I purchased a full tune with e85 as well as regular 91 octane. A word of caution and I know it's been mentioned before. You need to do lots of pulls in 4th gear bringing you into very big trouble territory if you get pulled over, so keep that in mind. My tuner was Stan and was a gentleman and professional from the very start. About half way through the process my stock clutch started to let go. I was bummed and thought was it for my tune. But nope Stan just said take your time on getting it fixed, no rush and we could resume the tune when it was replaced. So that's exactly what we did. After I believe 8 iterations of my 91 tune we ended with 255whp and 330wtg then we switched to my e85 tune. 91 gas here in AZ and the heat keeps the numbers relatively low. So then we went on to the e85 tune and after 4 more iterations we ended with 290whp and 335wtq. 2nd is hilarious with wheelspin, spins the tires in 3rd at wot , and 4th is where the party happens. The car is just beastly now on the stock turbo compared to stock. So in conclusion we picked up 50-55whp and 65wtq over the flash tune. The Stratified team are a bunch of pros with what they do, safety for the motor is numero uno on the list, and the patience Stan gave through the entire tune with my setbacks were fantastic. Get a full tune if you can! Best money you can spend on your car.

Oct 21, 2015I'm totally satisfied with the Custome Tune of my Mazdaspeed 3 Gen 2! Alex did a great job in tuning my daily driver which is fully bolted @ BNR S1 turbo and stock engine internals. He takes his time and explains the changes in every iteration of the tune.

Sep 16, 2015My car is my daily driver, and my pride an joy. I asked for a safe reliable tune for daily driving and track days with a flat torque curve and linear response, and Stan and the Stratified team delivered just that. They did an outstanding job, and were incredibly thorough and paid close attention to detail throughout the entire process. They were also very understanding of some circumstances outside of my control that came up, and worked with my schedule, putting the tune on hold for a bit. In the end, I could not be any happier with the results. I would not hesitate to use them again for any future tuning needs, and would recommend them to anyone else who needs a professional tune. In fact, I would not trust anyone else but Stratified to tune my car.

Aug 20, 2015I have a gen2 speed3… I initially upgraded the fuel pump and intake (JBR powerpath CAI), got a Cobb AccessPort and tried tuning myself… it’s a freaking learning curve and the forums, once you get past the “mine is bigger than yours” stuff that’s quite funny at times, are very informative… I learned a lot and my custom tune seemed OK but it wasn’t perfect and I was sick of spending my time reading and adjusting and getting nowhere fast… I got a couple more upgrades and late last year finally decided to let the pros do it and got the Stratified Flash tune… powerwise, it seemed very similar to my tune, but when I looked at the logs more closely, I had no doubt it was safer for the engine… now I wanted more power (which was always the intent even before purchasing the car)… within 3 months, I contacted Alex at Stratified to upgrade my car and he helped me choose the parts that would best get me to my power goals (GTX2867, Cobb DP, JBR 3.5 intake, ETS top mount, Synapse BPV, and other stuff)… I saw Jesus the weekend I did the parts install…
I got 2 tunes (93 octane and e25)… I loaded the first map for the 93 tune just after the install, went for a drive, and was very underwhelmed… don’t worry, this is by design because Alex can’t start being more aggressive with the tune until you send him the first logs, so be patient (and make sure you have no boost leaks)… 6 revisions later, the car feels awesome and pulls hard (@20-21psi)… we started the e25 tune cause I got a station less than 4 miles away… same thing, the initial map is pretty conservative and you won’t feel much difference… 4 revisions later…. holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!... at @24psi, those 3-4 extra psi sure make a difference!...
The car is basically like jekyll and hyde now… if not for the hood scoop, it would be a sleeper... a little louder than stock but not at all obnoxious or over-the-top and just as "comfortable" at stock… the GTX2867 spools a little later than the K04, but IMO this actually makes the car more drivable on the street (and pulls basically all the way to redline when going WOT)…
Alex was very helpful and answered all my questions and any concerns I had… I can’t recommend Stratified Tuning enough for the results they’ve produced and, since I’ve entered the rabbit hole, if I decide to go bigger (a good possibility), they’ll be the ones tuning the car and who I’ll ask regarding parts I need… if $$$ is not an issue and you’re still on the fence, what the hell are you waiting for?... you won’t regret it… and you too have a good chance of seeing Jesus just like me ;-) -
Jul 21, 2015After trying out Lex's flash tune (S-OTS+) I figured it was time to try out what my car could do with a full custom tune, so I decided to take the plunge.
Lex's professionalism really shines through with good communication and a good insight into what a vehicle is doing. After having some spanner monkeys somehow stuff up a fresh spark plug install, causing my car to miss and knock, it was relieving having Lex's calm instructive advice on hand to get me through whatever bumps in the road came along.
What also stands out is how the throttle feel is dialed in. With a throttle response this smooth, it's a wonder Mazda doesn't put out a call out to Lex to see what magic he is applying to the throttle tables in his maps. It really makes the car more usable not just in spirited driving but also in day to day traffic, crawling in car parks and all other conditions.
It has been said a million times by everyone who gets one, but the custom tune is really the best bang for buck modification to your vehicle. It doesn't just improve performance, it's improves the way the car drives overall
Cheers Lex!
